About the event
Step into a world where music reconnects us to the beauty of nature.
Inspired by the beloved book The Lost Words, this magical multimedia concert celebrates the wonder of the natural world. In recent editions of the Oxford Junior Dictionary, many nature words—dandelion, fern, ivy—quietly disappeared, replaced by terms from the digital age. This program reawakens those words through music, storytelling, and stunning illustrations projected throughout the performance.
The Saint Louis Women’s Chorale brings these vivid poems to life alongside beloved works that evoke the beauty and imagination of the natural world, including Eric Whitacre’s Seal Lullaby, the radiant Lakmé Duet, the shimmering Barcarolle, and favorites such as Pure Imagination and Over the Rainbow.
Narrated by Emmy Award-winning journalist Jill Farmer, The Lost Words: A Spell Book is a luminous spring concert inviting you to rediscover the magic of language, nature, and music.
Chamber Ensemble: Hannah Frey, violin; Ranya Iqbal, cello; Wendy…
