When your troubles take their toll let it reassure your soul
My heart longed for tending and repair
I was down in such a state, in a crisis of my faith
I couldn't see, insignificant as I am
Who'd hear me among the millions cryin' everyday
I forgot how to pray

I learned it from a friend in need with his heart upon his sleeve
His plea touched me, caught me unaware
There I was falling apart when I opened up my heart
And I knew it was so overwhelming
Through and through I felt the spirit tell me
